I recently had to go through the process of choosing an author photo.  Naturally, I chose something that made me look serious, professional and almost friendly (though, I like to point out that I am backed up against a wall, so… uh…symbolism).  Anyway, while I am delighted that the new photo makes me look less like a troll and more like someone you’d be thrilled to employ, I did briefly consider these two options instead:
