50 Questions

Introvert Hiding

I was wandering the web today, and came across this 50 questions pieces on My Pixie Blog. I decided that sitting down and answering these questions could, conceivably, get my writing motor running. That hasn’t exactly happened, but it’s a start.

Here are my 50 answers:

  1. What are you wearing? Andy’s Slamdance t-shirt and sweat-shorts (Obviously, I spend my days photoshoot ready)
  2. Ever been in love? Yes!
  3. Ever had a terrible breakup? Oh, yes.
  4. How tall are you? 5 foot 2 and ¾ inches (and I fight for every quarter inch)
  5. How much do you weigh? Still in denial
  6. Any tattoos? Nope. I can’t think of anything I’d want to see sag with age.
  7. Any piercings? Ears (though those keeping closing over as I rarely wear earrings)
  8. OTP (one true pair, favorite fictional couple)? Tough one—probably Mulder/Scully, but also Josh/Donna
  9. Favorite show? This is not possible for me to answer. Of shows that have aired in the last couple of years, I’d have to say Breaking Bad and Fargo.
  10. Favorite bands? This is going to sound strange, but I really don’t have one. There are certainly bands that I enjoy, particularly those that pop up from my teen years, but I don’t really run to iTunes when new things are released.
  11. Something you miss? I don’t get to see my parents nearly often enough.
  12. Favorite song? See answer 10.
  13. How old are you? Old enough not to answer that question.
  14. Zodiac sign? Pisces
  15. Quality you look for in a partner? I am a sucker for an honorable man.
  16. Favorite Quote? Is wrong to pick one of mine? “After 25 the only thing you’ll be precocious at is death.” From My Letter to Fear: Essays on Life, Love and the Search for Prince Charming.
  17. Favorite actor? I would probably give anything Bryan Cranston performs in a try. He’s just captivating.
  18. Favorite color? Deep (hunter?) green
  19. Loud music or soft? Soft if I’m writing. Loud if I’m frustrated.
  20. Where do you go when you’re sad? I used to get into bed and pull the covers over my head. That’s trickier to do now that I live with someone.
  21. How long does it take you to shower? Depends on my mood. I do love a good long shower—sadly, with the drought on, I feel guilty, so it has been a while.
  22. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Totally depends on whether or not I’ve washed my hair that morning. It can add a good 20 minutes if I have to dry it.
  23. Ever been in a physical fight? No, and I hope to keep that streak alive.
  24. Turn on? Intelligence and a sense of humor.
  25. Turn off? Rudeness
  26. The reason I started blogging? I had been in a long-term relationship with a man. We had separated, but I still believed that we’d get back together at some point. Then he told me he was getting married. Voila! A blogger was born.
  27. Fears? Running out of time.
  28. Last thing that made you cry? I rewatched an old episode of the West Wing where the president and Josh were shot. That didn’t quite get me to full tears, but it was pretty close.
  29. Last time you said you loved someone? This morning
  30. Meaning behind the name of your blog? I find the social structure in Los Angeles to be ridiculous. And I also find that people have adopted the myths of Los Angeles as truth.
  31. Last book you read? Technically, it was my own because I was trying to get a feel for the order of the readings we will be doing on the 20th.  In terms of someone else’s book, I am starting 236 Pounds of Class Vice President by Jason Mulgrew. Shamefully, it has been on my shelf for ages, and I just never got around to it. Time to change that!
  32. The book you’re currently reading? See above
  33. Last show you watched? The West Wing (on Netflix—I swear it was research)
  34. Last person you talked to? Andy
  35. The relationship between you and the person you last texted? Friend
  36. Favorite food? Chocolate.
  37. Place you want to visit? Vancouver, anywhere on Malta, a couple of different cities in Spain and Portugal
  38. Last place you were? Ohio (very briefly) and before that Benton Hot Springs
  39. Do you have a crush? Yes! Luckily, it’s on my significant other, so that helps.
  40. Last time you kissed someone? This morning
  41. Last time you were insulted? LOL! Well, I’m probably insulted more often than I realize, but I’m sure it occurred two weeks ago.
  42. Favorite flavor of sweet? Almost anything involving chocolate!
  43. What instruments do you play? I play the piano very badly.
  44. Favorite piece of jewelry? Hmmm I have some sentimental pieces, but I rarely wear jewelry. My Kenyon College signet class ring is probably my favorite piece.
  45. Last sport you played? Badminton. I did not exhibit great skill, but it was fun.
  46. Last song you sang? In general, I try not to sing. But I will admit to sing/saying “shake it off” a couple of times, though I’m not sure Taylor Swift would recognize it as her song.
  47. Favorite chat up line? None. They all come across as so insincere.
  48. Have you ever used it? Nope. I’m just not that skilled in social situations. I can imagine me trying to use one and then just sort of breaking off in the middle with a mumble and a weak laugh.
  49. Last time you hung out with anyone? I hang out with Andy a lot. I got to hang out with groovy friends at wine club on the 2nd.
  50. Who should answer these questions next? Oooh everyone who reads this blog!

Awww, great answers! It’s funny–I keep seeing Bryan Cranston’s name crop up anytime I read someone’s answers to these questions. I love that so many enjoy his acting chops 🙂 I’m going to have to add that 236 pounds book to my Goodreads list. Great post!
